Pause Photography - by Tammy
The word pause means a temporary stop or rest. That is what I want people to experience with my photography. For as long as I can remember I have deeply known that God is the ultimate artist and Creator. Since my wonderful Mama took a big trip to Heaven in the summer of 2020 I have been drawn to capturing the wonder of nature through photography. It brings me great joy to share the uniqueness and beauty of nature with others. From beach sunrises, tiny ladybugs,a bee on a bright sunflower, the straight lines of a fence on a farm, the joy of a child’s smile, and the gentleness of a horse’s eyes.
In October of 2025 I was honored to win the 1st place amateur photography award at the South Carolina State Fair for my photo,Shem Creek Royalty.
Psalm 150:6 “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Pause and take in the wonder of God’s creation.”

Stirrup Hope - What it means to me.
Stirrup Hope is my Oasis. I initially thought the equine therapy of Stirrup Hope would just be for one of my daughters who is a US Army Veteran. I thought Stirrup Hope would be the perfect place for my daughter to begin to heal after some trauma she was left with after her time serving in the army. After she came home,I introduced her to Liz, and left the rest to God. I am so glad my daughter connected with Liz and all of the animals in a truly special way. The farm and all of the time my daughter has spent there has done wonders to return my daughter’s light and joy to her life.
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
I am drawn to the peacefulness of Stirrup Hope like a magnet,or as a busy bee is drawn to a sunflower. Through many experiences in my life of people not understanding my uniqueness, depression, and the pain after two divorces the feeling of rejection has been like a HEAVY weight that would not stay off of me. Immediately when I come onto the grounds of “the farm” I feel peace and acceptance. When Liz pauses to walk and talk with me,give me healing genuine hugs, shows me how to care for the horses, and welcomes me to enjoy walking on the farm I am wrapped in a healing blanket of love. I am honored to be able to photograph all of the amazing happenings of Stirrup Hope. I am truly grateful.
